FILINVEST Alabang Inc. (FAI) is planning to further enhance its open space in Filinvest City, the upscale township project that turned the once cow grazing land in the 1980s into a bustling central business district at the southern part of Metro Manila.

Staring construction now is a pedestrian loop that will allow residents to go around the city safely and leisurely without using any vehicle.

Another addition is the building of a major central park to give city residents more areas to relax and breathe fresh air, FAI Executive Vice President Catherine Ilagan told The Manila Times Thursday.

“It’s giving back to the community—more areas for recreation, more areas for them to go and relax,” said Ilagan.

She said FAI is now in the process of securing permits and licenses for the development of the major central park and the next phases of the Filinvest City masterplan.
Inside Filinvest City is Festival Supermall, the first themed mall in the Philippines, and still one of the largest in the country.

Filinvest City is a joint venture between FAI and the government, with FAI holding 74 percent interest.
