Gotianun-family led Filinvest Development Corp. (FDC) and its various foundations and subsidiaries have pledged to donate P100 million worth of COVID-19 test kits and personal protective equipment (PPE) for the frontliners and hospital workers.

The group has identified the Research Institute of Tropical Medicine (RITM) as recipient of their donation.

”We hope to reach our unsung heroes, the front liners and our medical health workers who are tireless in their admirable efforts. We will also provide more COVID-19 test kits that will enable these institutions to accelerate their testing effort to help contain the spread,” said FDC president Josephine Gotianun Yap.

FDC’s property subsidiary, Filinvest Land Inc. has offered a 30-day payment extension for its Pabahay, Futura and Aspire customers who were affected by the Luzon-wide community quarantine.

Banking subsidiary, EastWest  Bank was first to offer a 30-day extension program on the payment due dates of eligible customers for auto, personal, mortgage, and EEL loans, and credit cards. It has waived the fees for fund transfers to any local bank made through instaPay while fund transfers through PESONet remain free of charge.

With the health and safety of customers and employees as EastWest’s top priority, especially at this time, the bank has encouraged customers to use its digital platforms.

Filinvest Lifemalls in Metro Manila which include f Festival Supermall in Filinvest Alabang, likewise provided rental waiver for qualified non-operational tenants during this period.

FDC Utilities Inc. and its subsidiary, FDC Misamis Power Corp. which operates a 405MW CFB power plant in Mindanao assure the public of continuous plant operations amidst the declaration of a  nationwide state of calamity. It also released over P32 Million ER 1-94 funds to their various host beneficiaries  for health programs.

In an earlier statement, Gotianun-Yap assured their real estate customers of continued business operations thru digital platforms while heeding the government’s call for work suspension during the enhanced community quarantine.

Gotianun-Yap believes that the Filipino spirit and resiliency will prevail over this public health  crisis.

“The Filinvest group is one with the nation in praying for everyone’s health and safety in these trying times. With unity, cooperation and concern for one another, we believe that we can endure this pandemic as one community, as one family,” she said.

Lopez-led First Philippine Holdings Corp. (FPH) has committed to  help  for poor families whose work and means of livelihood are affected by the government’s implementation of community quarantine to prevent the rapid spread of corona virus disease 2019 or COVID-19, starting with a P100-million seed fund through sister firm ABS-CBN Corp.

FPH said it has pledged P100 million as seed fund that allowed the immediate launch of ABS-CBN Corp.’s “Pantawid ng Pag-Ibig” project.

The project is a campaign coordinated with local government units (LGUs) to provide indigents with food and other necessities in the midst of  enhanced community quarantine.

ABS-CBN’s Pantawid ng Pag-Ibig project is raising funds from private companies and individuals, which the network uses to buy food items and other essentials for repacking and distribution to individual families and households in poor communities, whose residents are affected by quarantine restrictions.

Under the Pantawid campaign, ABS-CBN coordinates with the LGUs in distributing the food packages. By bringing food bags to the needy households, Pantawid at the same time helps prevent the spread of COVID-19 because it encourages the indigents to stay home. These families need not go to their barangay centers or to ABS-CBN to get their needs.

FPH has subsidiaries with operations in other parts of the country. These include First Gen Corp., the country’s largest clean and renewable energy producer, whose power plants are located in the provinces. ABS-CBN also has its own broadcast stations in the provinces.

Meanwhile, personnel of FPH subsidiaries in the provinces are ready to coordinate with LGUs in the provinces so the FPH subsidiaries can help poor families living both in host and nearby communities affected also by the virus.
